DJ Marvel w/ Slum Village at Rock the Bells - RIP Baatin

Yesterday was a historical landmark in hip hop history. I was blessed with the opportunity to DJ for Slum Village the same day as the passing of legendary member Baatin (R.I.P) I had chills the entire performance as T3 and Elzhi smashed the set for the thousands in attendance at Rock the Bells.

Big shots out to Slum Village, DJ Seko, Rasta Roots, Dj Kemo, and Josh from Guerilla Union.

SHOWDOWN OVER THE CITY

The Quiksilver Showdown Over the City is one of the top snowboarding events in Canada that attracts pros and ams alike from across the continent and from around the world. Going into its 3rd year, the hype continues to build about who will be the next stand out and who will walk away with the $20K in cash! Seko, Rico Uno and myself will all be DJing for this event and would love to see some familiar faces up on the hill.

This weekend's key events throughout the weekend consist of the Friday qualifiers, Friday Night Jib Session, Saturday Jump + Jib Session, outdoor BBQ + beer garden, music, demos, and a killer afterparty.

So, that's that.  After months of regional battles and the finals in Toronto all has been said and done.  Congrats to Halifax's Cosmo for taking the Crown and the cheque for $2500. Big up's to Kenny Mac for putting on the biggest DJ event in North America to date, and to top it of having a kid the day after!   Check out Vancouver's P-Luv do his thing and the rest of the sets HERE. 

GOING GOING BACK BACK TO HALI

Started my day grabbing food at a dope spot called sparrow.. fish soup and a salad..Truspin, and Scratch Bastid had the huge burger, with lot's of homo erotic jokes based around the size of the meat. As we got to talking Bastid put us on to this Josh Martinez / Classified joint "Going Back to Hali" Ive never been to Halifax but they have been pumping out quality artists for a minute; Josh Martinez, RHEK!, Bastid, Buck 65, Tachichi, J Bru, ghettosocks, The Goods, fax 4, and this classic joint.. (I remember heading straight to randy river in grade 6 and copping these pok-a-dot jump offs) ~ Marvel

3style aftermath!

WOW! I have yet to experience something like last night. The commodore was well over capacity as we rocked it for the Redbull3 style. This event has grown so much and come so far in just 3 years.  Pluv took the title and will go on to rep vancouver for the canadian finals march 13 in Toronto!  Big shots out to Rico Uno for holding it repping us right.. (2nd place!) can't believe he crowd surfed! The bar has been raised even higher for next year.
